Spotlight on Science Diplomacy
The 2025 meeting centered on the theme of Science Diplomacy, examining its importance in international collaboration, evidence-informed policymaking, and tackling global challenges. Special attention was given to the role of early-career researchers in Science Diplomacy and to how they can help shape and advance this emerging field.
A public programme on 5 June started at 15:30 with a thematic introduction by the Geneva Science-Policy Interface (GSPI), followed by an input by Swissnex China. A panel discussion then explored the role of early-career researchers in this domain, with contributions from representatives of the International Science Council (ISC), the Young Academies Science Advice Structure (YASAS), CERN, and the European Science Diplomacy Alliance (EUSDA).
